Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL), 4-3 in a non-league test.

With the win, Seneca upgrades its record to 10-6 on the season. The Fighting Irish travel to Midland (Varna, IL) to battle the Timberwolves in a Tri-County test on Thursday, April 27. The Timberwolves come into the test with a record of 3-15. Midland lost 3-2 in their recent league test against Seneca (Seneca, IL)

With the defeat, Coal City falls to 12-7 on the season. The Coalers host Reed-Custer (Braidwood, IL) to battle the Comets in a Illinois Central Eight test on Monday, May 1. The Comets come into the test with a record of 15-4.
