Carlisle Chiefs (Martinsville, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Covenant Eagles (Charlottesville, VA), 8-7 in a league test.

With the win, Carlisle upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Chiefs travel to Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA) to battle the Tigers in a Freelance test on Tuesday, May 3. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 1-11.

With the defeat, Covenant falls to 6-4 on the season. The Eagles host Steward (Richmond, VA) to battle the in a non-league test on Thursday, May 5. The come into the test with a record of 11-6.
