South Carolina High School Soccer - May River knocks off South Effingham
April 7, 2026: Bluffton, SC 2991 The May River Sharks soccer squad scored 6 points and held the visiting South Effingham Mustangs to 0 in the Sharks non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Sharks now hold a 11-1 record. They play next when they travel to Hilton Head Island for a AAAA Region 6 bout on Friday, April 10. May River will play a Seahawks squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Beaufort (Beaufort, SC). The Seahawks record now stands at 6-6.
With the loss, South Effingham moves to 7-8 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Benedictine (Savannah, GA) to play the Cadets in a non-league bout on Friday, April 10. The Cadets go into the bout with a record of 11-4. Benedictine won 7-5 in their recent league bout against New Hampstead (Savannah, GA)
