California High School Softball - Helix bounces Steele Canyon

Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 16-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Granite Hills for a Grossmont Hills challenge on Friday, May 14. Helix will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Grossmont (El Cajon, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, Steele Canyon falls to 11-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to University City (San Diego, CA) to battle the Centurions in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 18. The Centurions enter the challenge with a record of 14-6. University City won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Patrick Henry (San Diego, CA)
