May 20, 2021: San Diego, CA 92130 In Thursday's league outing, the host Torrey Pines Falcons softball team scored a close 4-3 win over the Carlsbad Lancers.
Coming up next, the Falcons battle the Hilltop Lancers (Chula Vista, CA) in a non-league outing, on Monday, May 24. Torrey Pines will attempt to upgrade on its 16-5 season record. The Lancers enter the outing with a 11-7 record after their 4-1 league loss to Otay Ranch (Chula Vista, CA).
The Lancers (11-4) will now prepare for their outing against La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, CA). The Mavericks enter the Coastal (NCC) outing with a 10-10 record. In their last outing, La Costa Canyon was tipped by Torrey Pines (San Diego, CA), 9-6, in a league outing.

Falcons Squeeze out win over Carlsbad
The Torrey Pines Lady Falcons Rallied from a 3-1 deficit to score 2 runs in the fifth and one in the six to pull out a 4-3 victory over Carlsbad in a North Coastal County League game. Torrey Pines got a 2 Run RBI Single From Freshman pitcher Georgia Bilski in the fifth inning to tie the game at three. In the bottom of the sixth inning Torrey Pines used a Brielle Carre Double, a wild pitch and a Suicide Squeeze bunt by Junior Emma Fitzgerald scoring pinch runner Ava Fagan with the game winner for the Falcons who improved to 16 and 5 overall and 4-1 in league play. Bilski threw a complete game 9 hitter with four strikeouts to improve her record to 13 and 3 on the season while dealing with a very sore blister on her foot. All CIF Center-fielder Kyra Chan went 2-3 with a run scored and her 20th stolen base for Torrey Pines. Carlsbad falls to 11-4 overall and 3-2 in league play with the loss. Torrey Pines will host Hilltop Monday in a non league tilt.
