May 4, 2021: Carlsbad, CA 92008 Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Torrey Pines Falcons (San Diego, CA) and the host Carlsbad Lancers (Carlsbad, CA), witnessed Torrey Pines's softball squad tip Carlsbad by a count of 5-2.
The Falcons now sport a 13-4 record. They play next when they host Oceanside for a Coastal (NCC) match on Thursday, May 6. Torrey Pines will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Rancho Buena Vista (Vista, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 3-5.
With the loss, Carlsbad moves to 7-3 on the season. The Lancers travel to La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, CA) to meet the Mavericks in a Coastal (NCC) match on Thursday, May 6. The Mavericks go into the match with a record of 9-7. La Costa Canyon won 4-1 in their recent non-league match against Mission Hills (San Marcos, CA)

FRESHMEN-BILSKI DOES IT ALL IN COASTAL NORTH LEAGUE OPENING WIN
Freshman Georgia Bilski threw a complete game, 10 inning, seven hitter and drove in 4 runs to lead the Torrey Pines Falcons to a 5-2 victory over Carlsbad in the Coastal North League opener today at Carlsbad. Bilski Hit a solo home run and a 10th inning 3 Run bases clearing Single driving in four runs on the day as Torrey Pines captured the league opener. Senior catcher Sophia Bertucci went 2-5 and reached base four times while her sister Simone Bertucci also reached base four times going to 2-4 with two walks to lead the Torrey Pines offense. The Falcons stranded 15 runners in scoring position before finally pulling out the win. Torrey Pines which had 8 hits also received 7 walks, a hit batter, and benefited from 4 Carlsbad fielding errors as they put constant pressure on the Lancer defense. Torrey Pines improved to 13-4 overall (1-0) in league while Carlsbad dropped to 7-3 overall and (0-1) in the league.
