In Friday's non-league challenge, the Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC) baseball squad edged the visiting South Johnston Trojans (Four Oaks, NC), by a final score of 8-7.

With the win, Triton upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Hawks travel to Lee County (Sanford, NC) to encounter the Yellow Jackets in a Tri-County 3A challenge on Tuesday, May 11. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 3-1. Lee County won 15-9 in their recent non-league challenge against Bunn (Bunn, NC)

With the defeat, South Johnston falls to 1-3 on the season. The Trojans host Clayton (Clayton, NC) to face the Comets in a Greater Neuse 3A bout on Tuesday, May 11. The Comets enter the bout with a record of 3-1. Clayton won 7-2 in their recent non-league bout against Apex (Apex, NC)
