The Asheville Cougars football squad scored 40 points and limited the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers to 36 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dobyns-Bennett for a non-league test on Friday, August 29. Asheville will clash with a Indians squad coming off a 26-20 non-league win over Knoxville Central (Knoxville, TN). The Indians record now stands at 1-0.
