The Sutton Mustangs edged the host McCool Junction Mustangs football team by a score of 30-28 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Heartland Huskies (Henderson, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 6. Sutton will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Huskies enter the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 66-6 non-league loss to Thayer Central (Hebron, NE).
