North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 5-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Vikings confront the West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) in a Queen City 3A/4A challenge, on Wednesday, September 14. North Mecklenburg will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record. The Hawks enter the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 9-0 league loss to Hough (Cornelius, NC).

The Mavericks now have a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hough for a Queen City 3A/4A challenge on Monday, September 19.
