Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Florence Gophers (Florence, AZ) and the host ALA - Ironwood Warriors (Ironwood, AZ), observed Florence's volleyball team hold off ALA - Ironwood by a count of 3-2.

With the win, Florence improves its record to 11-8 on the season. The Gophers travel to Seton Catholic (Chandler, AZ) to encounter the Sentinels in a 3A - Central battle on Monday, September 22. The Sentinels go into the battle with a record of 3-4. Seton Catholic lost 3-0 in their recent league battle against Valley Christian (Chandler, AZ)

The Warriors now own a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Payson for a 3A - Metro battle on Monday, September 22. ALA - Ironwood will meet a Longhorns team coming off a 3-1 league win over Benjamin Franklin (Queen Creek, AZ). The Longhorns record now stands at 14-3.
