The Lanier Poets football squad scored 28 points and restricted the visiting Valley Rams to 6 in the Poets league victory on Saturday.

The Poets now possess a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bessemer City for a non-league battle on Friday, September 24. Lanier will play a Tigers squad coming off a 47-0 league loss to McAdory (McCalla, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 0-5.
