The Merritt Island Christian Cougars football squad (Merritt Island, FL), was nudged 26-20 in Friday's non-league match with the visiting Donahue Catholic Shamrocks (Ave Maria, FL)

The Shamrocks (4-1) will now prepare for their match against Bell Creek Academy (Riverview, FL). The Panthers come into the Sunshine State - Freelance match with a 1-3 record. In their last match, Bell Creek Academy was nudged by Foundation Christian Academy (Valrico, FL), 44-12, in a league battle.

The Cougars now have a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Calvary Chapel Academy for a Sunshine State - Atlantic (8 Man) battle on Friday, September 26. Merritt Island Christian will play a Eagles team coming off a 36-0 non-league loss to Four Corners (Davenport, FL). The Eagles record now stands at 2-3.
