In Friday's non-league match, the host South Brunswick Cougars football squad scored a close 21-20 triumph over the Purnell Swett Rams.

The Cougars (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Red Springs (Red Springs, NC). The Red Devils go into the Southeastern 3A/4A/5A challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Red Springs nipped Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC), 35-18, in a non-league challenge.
