The Santa Maria Cougars walloped the host Woodsboro Eagles football team by a score of 52-16 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars face the Kaufer Seahawks (Riviera, TX) in a 2A-1 Region IV District 16 challenge, on Friday, September 26. Santa Maria will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Seahawks enter the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 30-0 non-league loss to Woodsboro (Woodsboro, TX).

With the defeat, Woodsboro drops to 1-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Louise (Louise, TX) to clash with the Hornets in a non-league test on Friday, September 26.
