The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT) and the host Ridgefield Tigers (Ridgefield, CT), witnessed Staples's football squad knock off Ridgefield by a tally of 35-7.

The Wreckers (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Maloney (Meriden, CT). The Spartans enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Maloney gained a win over Glastonbury (Glastonbury, CT), 41-27, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Tigers battle the Wilton Warriors (Wilton, CT) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 28. Ridgefield will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 0-2 record after their 21-19 league loss to Norwalk (Norwalk, CT).
