Lafayette Fighting Irish (St. Joseph, MO) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Falls City Tigers (Falls City, NE), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Irish now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Savannah for a Class 3 District 16 challenge on Thursday, September 30.

With the loss, Falls City falls to 13-10 on the campaign. The Tigers host Weeping Water (Weeping Water, NE) to face the Indians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 25. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 11-11. Weeping Water lost 10-2 in their recent league challenge against Yutan-Mead (Yutan, NE)
