In Friday's league match, the host Loyd Star Hornets football squad scored a good 44-30 victory over the Wilkinson County Wildcats.

In their next game, the Hornets clash with the Amite County Trojans (Liberty, MS) in a 2A Region 7 match, on Friday, October 6. Loyd Star will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 2-4 record after their 36-28 league win over Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS).
