Mendon Hornets (Mendon, MI) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the host Britton Deerfield Patriots (Britton, MI), 28-24 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Mendon advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Hornets host Concord (Concord, MI) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. The Yellowjackets go into the battle with a record of 2-0. Concord won 78-0 in their recent non-league battle against Athens (Athens, MI)

The Patriots now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Colon for a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. Britton Deerfield will play a Magi team coming off a 43-22 non-league win over Morenci (Morenci, MI). The Magi record now stands at 2-0.
