Western Panthers (Russiaville, IN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lewis Cass Kings (Walton, IN), 58-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Western upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Panthers host Carroll (Flora, IN) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 19. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 1-12.

Next up, the Kings play the Wabash Apaches (Wabash, IN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 9. Lewis Cass will attempt to upgrade on its 1-16 season record. The Apaches go into the bout with a 15-2 record after their 43-36 league win over Rochester (Rochester, IN).
