The Crete Cardinals soccer team scored 6 points and limited the visiting Northwest Vikings to 1 in the Cardinals league victory on Tuesday.
Next, the Cardinals face the York Dukes (York, NE) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, April 25. Crete will attempt to better on its 9-2 season record. The Dukes enter the contest with a 5-5 record after their 1-1 non-league Seward (Seward, NE).
The Vikings now have a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Seward for a B6 contest on Thursday, April 25. Northwest will face a Bluejays team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Lakeview (Columbus, NE). The Bluejays record now stands at 1-11.
Northwest traveled to Crete to face the #4 Cardinals. Crete was able to get on the scoreboard first just 10 minutes in when Alexis Carbajal scored off of an Anthony Bolanos pass. Eight minutes later Crete scored when Hamilson Vicente scored. Crete scored their third goal of the half just a minute later when Carbajal scored again off of a Bolanos cross. Crete 3-0 at half. Crete started the second half out strong with a goal just 5 minutes in when Anthony Bolanos scored off of a Carbajal pass. Crete scored their 5th goal just 3 minutes later when Vicente scored his second goal of the match off of a Bolanos assist. Crete scored their sixth and final goal of the game when Vicente scored his hattrick just 2 minutes later off of a Anthony Dominguez pass.
