In Friday's non-league test, the Speedway Sparkplugs (Speedway, IN) basketball team edged the visiting Crawfordsville Athenians (Crawfordsville, IN), by a tally of 60-54.

The Sparkplugs now possess a 11-9 record. They play next when they travel to Triton Central for a Hoosier Legends bout on Friday, February 27. Speedway will play a Tigers team coming off a 57-45 league win over Beech Grove (Beech Grove, IN). The Tigers record now stands at 18-3.

With the loss, Crawfordsville falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Athenians host Lafayette Central Catholic (Lafayette, IN) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 21. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 8-13. Lafayette Central Catholic lost 70-45 in their recent league test against Hamilton Heights (Arcadia, IN)
