Fairfield Mules (Fairfield, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Mt. Vernon Wildcats (Mt. Vernon, IN), 43-27 in a non-league match.

The Mules (13-8) will now prepare for their contest against Frankfort (West Frankfort, IL). The Redbirds go into the non-league contest with a 11-10 record. In their last contest, Frankfort was topped by Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL), 58-38, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Wildcats confront the Forest Park Rangers (Ferdinand, IN) in a Pocket contest, on Thursday, January 22. Mt. Vernon will attempt to better on its 8-15 season record.
