January 5, 2019: Preston, GA 31824 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Baker County Bears (Newton, GA) and the host Webster County (Preston, GA), saw Baker County's basketball squad hold off Webster County by a tally of 50-48.
With the victory, Baker County improves its record to 1-8 on the campaign. The Bears host Stewart County (Lumpkin, GA) to play the Knights in a A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, January 8. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Stewart County won 55-43 in their recent league challenge against Miller County (Colquitt, GA)
Next up, the play the Terrell County Greenwave (Dawson, GA) in a A Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 8. Webster County will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Greenwave come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 35-32 league loss to Seminole County (Donalsonville, GA).
