March 7, 2022: Vista, CA 92084 The Torrey Pines Falcons softball team scored 15 runs and limited the host Vista Panthers to 2 in the Falcons non-league triumph on Monday.

Falcons open new field at Vista with North County Tournament Win
The Torrey Pines Lady Falcons christened a brand-new varsity softball field at Vista H.S with a 15-2 (5) inning victory in the second round of the 2022 North County Tournament. Former Torrey Pines Principal David Jaffe who is now the principal at Vista High threw out a strike on the first pitch underhand softball style prior to the game. The Falcons then erupted for 9 first inning runs in route to the victory. Torrey Pines used 17 hits 2 walks a hit batter and 5 Vista errors to plate 15 runs in the contest. Senior Jaden Adams earned the win in the circle throwing three innings of two run ball. Sophomore Kathryn McGinty followed up with two innings of no hit relief allowing one walk while striking out six batters. Simone Bertucci 3-4 led the Falcon offense, Bilski-Fitzgerald-Huffstetter-and Whelihan all had 2 hits for Torrey Pines who moved to 6-3 on the season. The Falcons travel to Cathedral tomorrow for round 3.
