Alief Taylor Lions (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Brazoswood Buccaneers (Clute, TX), 62-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Alief Taylor upgrades its record to 16-11 on the season. The Lions host George Ranch (Richmond, TX) to play the Longhorns in a 6A Region III District 23 bout on Tuesday, January 29. The Longhorns go into the bout with a record of 18-5. George Ranch lost 41-40 in their recent league bout against Alief Hastings (Houston, TX)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Dawson Eagles (Pearland, TX) in a 6A Region III District 23 bout, on Tuesday, January 29. Brazoswood will attempt to upgrade on its 11-18 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 20-7 record after their 41-39 league win over Pearland (Pearland, TX).
