McCook Bison (McCook, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Burlington Cougars (Burlington, CO), 50-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, McCook upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Bison host Cozad (Cozad, NE) to play the Haymakers in a C1 District 11 battle on Tuesday, December 11. The Haymakers come into the battle with a record of 0-5. Cozad lost 50-45 in their recent league battle against Valentine (Valentine, NE)

The Cougars (0-4) will now prepare for their battle against Merino (Merino, CO). The Rams come into the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Merino was nudged by Simla (Simla, CO), 42-32, in a league battle.
