North Carolina High School Basketball - Gates County fells Bear Grass Charter
January 4, 2019: Williamston, NC 27892 Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Bear Grass Charter Bears (Williamston, NC), 61-43 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Gates County upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Red Barons host Manteo (Manteo, NC) to clash with the Redskins in a Albemarle Athletic 1A bout on Monday, January 7. The Redskins go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Manteo won 53-49 in their recent non-league bout against Currituck County (Barco, NC)
Next up, the Bears clash with the Ocracoke Dolphins (Ocracoke, NC) in a Atlantic 5 1A bout, on Tuesday, January 8. Bear Grass Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Dolphins go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 70-22 league win over Cape Hatteras (Buxton, NC).
