Northwest Guilford Vikings (Greensboro, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC), 56-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Northwest Guilford upgrades its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Ben L. Smith (Greensboro, NC) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 27. The Golden Eagles come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Ben L. Smith won 58-41 in their recent non-league bout against Ragsdale (Jamestown, NC)

Next up, the Whirlies play the Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Greensboro, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 28. Grimsley will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Nighthawks come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 72-53 non-league loss to Dudley (Greensboro, NC).
