Mississippi High School Basketball - Houlka overwhelms South Pontotoc

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Houlka Wildcats (Houlka, MS) and the visiting South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), saw Houlka's basketball squad wallop South Pontotoc by a tally of 80-46.

With the victory, Houlka advances its record to 18-4 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Smithville (Smithville, MS) to encounter the Seminoles in a 1A Region 4 test on Friday, January 26. The Seminoles go into the test with a record of 4-15. Smithville won 60-50 in their recent league test against Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS)

The Cougars now own a 15-6 record. They play next when they travel to Houston for a 3A Region 4 test on Friday, January 26. South Pontotoc will encounter a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 69-60 non-league win over Eupora (Eupora, MS). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 10-9.
