Mississippi High School Soccer - Resurrection Catholic Pascagoula
December 8, 2012: Pascagoula, MS 39567 In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Pascagoula Panthers soccer squad scored a close 2-0 win over the Resurrection Catholic Eagles.
The Panthers (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against East Central (Moss Point, MS). The Hornets go into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record.
The Eagles (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against West Harrison (Gulfport, MS). The Hurricanes go into the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, West Harrison nipped Harrison Central (Gulfport, MS), 6-0, in a non-league battle.
Game Summary
Resurrection JV Girls held a well seasoned Pascagoula team to only one goal in the first half of play with excellent effort from Denazia Sewell in the goal. In the second half, Pascagoula netted it's second goal on a penalty kick after a hand ball in the penalty box. With only a few minutes remaining Pascagoula was able to break through and score their third goal of the match. The young Resurrection team comprised mainly of 7th and 8th graders continues to improve every game. Vivian Summerlin, Zoie Lepine, Maggie Walden, Ty'ana Hutchins, Emma Kate Bowie and Olivia Brasher played an excellent match.
