Ohio High School Volleyball - Northview over Eastwood
September 8, 2018: Sylvania, OH 43560 In Saturday's non-league contest, the Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH) volleyball squad knocked off the visiting Eastwood Eagles (Pemberville, OH), by a margin of 3-0.
Next up, the Wildcats battle the Southview Cougars (Sylvania, OH) in a Northern Lakes contest, on Tuesday, September 11. Northview will attempt to better on its 8-1 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 9-2 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Evergreen (Metamora, OH).
With the loss, Eastwood drops to 6-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Elmwood (Bloomdale, OH) to battle the Royals in a Northern Buckeye contest on Tuesday, September 11. The Royals come into the contest with a record of 2-3.
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - Eastwood High School visited Northview for a non-conference match-up between two very good programs. Last year, Eastwood defeated Northview in straights sets and this year it was Northview's turn to win in straight sets.
Northview was lead by senior, outsider hitter, McKenna Hall who had 9 kills and a team high 16 digs, as well as junior, outside hitter, Hannah Frame who was a team high 13 kills, hitting .333, and 7 digs. For the second straight match, Northview was able to find great connection with both middles - sophomore, Haley Catti, had 5 kills, hitting .364 and junior, Bri Syroka, had 3 kills, hitting .222. Northview's offense was led by sophomore, Clare Kwiatkowski with 33 assists. Defensively sophomore libero, Emma Dukate led with 13 digs.
Northview (8-1, 4-0) will return home on Tuesday as they host crosstown rival Southview (8-2, 3-1 NLL) . Junior Varsity starts at 5:00 P.M., Varsity at 6:30 P.M at Northview.
