New Mexico High School Basketball - West Mesa overwhelms Eldorado
February 2, 2019: Albuquerque, NM 87121 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Eldorado Eagles (Albuquerque, NM), saw West Mesa's basketball squad wallop Eldorado by a tally of 61-37.
With the victory, West Mesa improves its record to 18-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs host La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Bears in a 5A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, February 5. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 16-3. La Cueva lost 50-41 in their recent league challenge against Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, February 6. Eldorado will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 4-15 record after their 59-37 league loss to Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM).
