Mississippi High School Basketball - New Hope holds off Houston
January 7, 2020: Houston, MS 38851 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) and the host Houston Hilltoppers (Houston, MS), saw New Hope's basketball squad hold off Houston by a tally of 53-49.
With the victory, New Hope improves its record to 2-6 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to West Point (West Point, MS) to confront the Green Wave in a 5A Region 2 challenge on Friday, January 10. The Green Wave come into the challenge with a record of 0-8. West Point lost 50-20 in their recent league challenge against Columbus (Columbus, MS)
Next up, the Hilltoppers confront the Caledonia Confederates (Caledonia, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 11. Houston will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Confederates come into the challenge with a 2-9 record after their 41-36 league loss to Mooreville (Mooreville, MS).
