February 18, 2014: Birmingham, AL 35242 The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies (Trussville, AL) lacrosse tipped the host Oak Mountain Eagles (Birmingham, AL), 7-6 in Tuesday's league outing.
With the win, Hewitt-Trussville upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Huskies host Oak Mountain (Birmingham, AL) to battle the Eagles in a Birmingham Youth outing on Friday, March 14. The Eagles go into the outing with a record of 0-1.
With the defeat, Oak Mountain drops to 0-1 on the season. The Eagles host Grissom (Huntsville, AL) to battle the Tigers in a Birmingham Youth outing on Saturday, February 22. The Tigers go into the outing with a record of 0-0.
Game Summary
Last night, the Oak Mountain Eagles squared off against the Trussville Huskies to kick off the 2014 season. The hard work these boys have put in during the offseason and preseason was apparent from the start. The Eagles jumped out to an 8-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 21-0 victory. Offensively, the Eagles were paced by junior Jim Cline (4 goals, 5 assists), sophomore Jacob Jasinski (4 goals, 2 assists), junior Jack Bishop (4 goals) and sophomore Elijah Garrett (4 goals). Jack Jasinski added 2 goals and 4 assists, while William Seward and Matthew Marquet added 2 goals and 1 goal respectively.
The defensive unit was stifling all night. The Eagles only surrendered 4 shots on goal, all saves by sophomore keeper Rus McIntyre. Defensemen Walker Lacey, Jared Bullock, Cyrus Basseghi, George Shunnarah and Benton Moore caused problems for the Huskies offense all night.
