With the victory, New Canaan betters its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Ridgefield (Ridgefield, CT) to confront the Tigers in a FCIAC challenge on Friday, January 24. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Ridgefield won 6-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Notre Dame Catholic (Fairfield, CT)
The (6-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Staples (Westport, CT). The Wreckers enter the non-league challenge with a 3-3 record. In their last challenge, Staples tipped Trinity Catholic (Stamford, CT), 6-2, in a non-league challenge.
Game Summary
Highlights: Fairfield: Sam Swanson once again led the Mustangs in scoring, tallying two goals from his defenseman post and adding an assist. Forward Matt Jankovsky also had a goal and an assist, and defenseman Noah Kingsly picked up two points, both on assists. Linemates Finn Hoey and Brendan Carney also made it to the stat sheet, with Hoey scoring on a feed from Carney. This closely-fought loss halts the Mustangs five-game win streak, who look to rebound against Staples on Saturday.
