The Shelby Golden Lions topped the visiting Freedom Patriots football team by a count of 27-0 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Shelby upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Golden Lions travel to A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC) to confront the Rockets in a non-league outing on Friday, August 26. The Rockets go into the outing with a record of 0-1. A.C. Reynolds lost 21-6 in their recent non-league outing against West Forsyth (Clemmons, NC)

With the loss, Freedom moves to 0-1 on the season. The Patriots host Draughn (Valdese, NC) to confront the Wildcats in a non-league outing on Friday, August 26. The Wildcats go into the outing with a record of 1-0. Draughn won 27-14 in their recent non-league outing against West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC)
