Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Tulare Western Mustangs (Tulare, CA) and the host El Diamante Miners (Visalia, CA), saw Tulare Western's basketball squad hold off El Diamante by a tally of 54-49.

With the victory, Tulare Western improves its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Delano (Delano, CA) to confront the Tigers in a East Yosemite challenge on Friday, January 4. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 4-12. Delano won 68-63 in their recent non-league challenge against Frontier (Bakersfield, CA)

Next up, the Miners confront the Hanford Bullpups (Hanford, CA) in a West Yosemite challenge, on Thursday, January 3. El Diamante will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Bullpups come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 77-73 non-league win over North (Bakersfield, CA).
