Indiana High School Softball - Bremen bounces Jimtown
May 13, 2019: Elkhart, IN 46517 The Bremen Lions routed the host Jimtown Jimmies softball squad by a final score of 16-1 in Monday's league battle.
The Lions (20-2) will now prepare for their battle against Plymouth (Plymouth, IN). The Pilgrims go into the non-league battle with a 1-23 record. In their last battle, Plymouth was routed by NorthWood (Nappanee, IN), 14-2, in a league battle.
The Jimmies now possess a 11-8 record. They play next when they host Glenn for a Northern Indiana battle on Tuesday, May 14. Jimtown will meet a Falcons squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to New Prairie (New Carlisle, IN). The Falcons record now stands at 11-11.
Game Summary
The Bremen Lady Lions finished their NIC schedule with a 11-1 record which assured them at least a share of the 2019 NIC Championship. Their hot bats continued, as Caitlin Traxler had two Home Runs including a grand slam, Erin Coffel had a 3-run homer that put the Lions in front for good, and McKenna Myers had a 2-run home run to cap the 9-run 2nd inning. Rylee Hershberger & Traxler had 3 hits, Coffel & M Myers had two each.
