Pueblo County Hornets (Pueblo, CO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host La Junta Tigers (La Junta, CO), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pueblo Centennial for a 4A South Central challenge on Tuesday, September 6. Pueblo County will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 9-5 non-league win over Northglenn (Northglenn, CO). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, La Junta falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host James Irwin (Colorado Springs, CO) to clash with the Jaguars in a 3A District 2 game on Saturday, September 3. The Jaguars come into the game with a record of 1-1. James Irwin lost 14-3 in their recent non-league game against Harrison (Colorado Springs, CO)
