Mississippi High School Basketball - Smithville tops Wheeler
January 14, 2020: Wheeler, MS 38880 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS) and the host Wheeler Eagles (Wheeler, MS), saw Smithville's basketball squad knock off Wheeler by a tally of 54-41.
With the victory, Smithville improves its record to 18-3 on the campaign. The Seminoles host Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 21. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 10-11. Tupelo Christian Prep won 69-68 in their recent non-league challenge against Jumpertown (Booneville, MS)
Next up, the Eagles play the Tremont Eagles (Tremont, MS) in a 1A Region 2 game, on Tuesday, January 21. Wheeler will attempt to move on its 8-9 season record.
