East Marion Eagles (Columbia, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Canton Tigers (Canton, MS), 49-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Marion upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Eagles travel to McComb (McComb, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 29. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-11. McComb lost 41-40 in their recent non-league bout against Brookhaven (Brookhaven, MS)

Next up, the Tigers play the Neshoba Central Rockets (Philadelphia, MS) in a 5A Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 4. Canton will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record.
