The James Kenan Tigers got by the visiting Clinton Dark Horses softball squad by a final score of 18-17 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Tigers (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Goldsboro (Goldsboro, NC). The Cougars go into the East Central 2A battle with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Goldsboro was edged by Southern Wayne (Dudley, NC), 9-3, in a non-league battle.
