Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Merced Bears (Merced, CA) and the visiting Pitman Pride (Turlock, CA), saw Merced's basketball squad hold off Pitman by a count of 67-62.

With the victory, Merced upgrades its record to 13-7 on the campaign. The Bears host Atwater (Atwater, CA) to play the Falcons in a Central California Conference challenge on Wednesday, January 21. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 9-11. Atwater won 60-53 in their recent league challenge against Golden Valley (Merced, CA)

Next up, the Pride play the Buhach Colony Thunder (Atwater, CA) in a Central California Conference challenge, on Wednesday, January 21. Pitman will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record.
