North Carolina High School Football - Weddington beat Piedmont

October 5, 2018: Matthews, NC 28104

The Weddington Warriors football squad scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Piedmont Panthers to 14 in the Warriors league victory on Friday.

The Warriors now possess a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Parkwood for a Southern Carolina 3A battle on Friday, October 12. Weddington will face a Rebels squad coming off a 42-0 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Rebels record now stands at 1-6.

Coming up next, the Panthers face the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a Southern Carolina 3A battle, on Friday, October 12. Piedmont will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 6-1 record after their 28-7 league win over Sun Valley (Monroe, NC).
