In Friday's league match, the visiting DeSoto Eagles basketball team scored a decisive 54-29 triumph over the Cedar Hill Longhorns.

In their next game, the Eagles meet the Midway Panthers (Waco, TX) in a 6A Region II District 11 match, on Tuesday, January 12. DeSoto will attempt to better on its 14-1 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 3-9 record after their 81-12 league loss to Duncanville (Duncanville, TX).
