The SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) basketball felled the host Nash Central Bulldogs (Rocky Mount, NC), 71-54 in Tuesday's league test.

The Cougars (16-4) will now prepare for their test against Farmville Central (Farmville, NC). The Jaguars go into the Eastern Plains 2A test with a 19-2 record. In their last test, Farmville Central thwarted North Johnston (Kenly, NC), 91-32, in a league test.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beddingfield for a Eastern Plains 2A battle on Friday, February 7. Nash Central will battle a Bruins team coming off a 67-63 league loss to North Pitt (Bethel, NC). The Bruins record now stands at 9-10.
