In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Blount Leopards basketball team scored a good 68-52 triumph over the Newton Rams.

In their next game, the Leopards confront the Alpharetta Raiders (Alpharetta, GA) in a non-league match, on Friday, December 28. Blount will attempt to move on its 17-2 season record. The Raiders enter the match with a 8-1 record after their 50-45 non-league win over Jefferson Davis (Montgomery, AL).

With the defeat, Newton falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Rams host Luella (Luella, GA) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 4.
