Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Southwest Roughriders (Bartley, NE) and the visiting Hitchcock County Falcons (Trenton, NE), saw Southwest's basketball squad overcome Hitchcock County by a tally of 43-23.

With the victory, Southwest improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Roughriders host Cambridge (Cambridge, NE) to confront the Trojans in a D1 District 12 challenge on Friday, January 7. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 6-5. Cambridge won 51-32 in their recent non-league challenge against Norton (Norton, KS)

Next up, the Falcons confront the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos (Wauneta, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 7. Hitchcock County will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record. The Broncos come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 53-47 non-league loss to Arapahoe (Arapahoe, NE).
