Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), 7-3 in a non-league test.

With the win, Nelson County upgrades its record to 5-9 on the season. The Governors host Dan River (Ringgold, VA) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league test on Wednesday, May 1. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 6-8. Dan River won 7-2 in their recent non-league test against Altavista Combined School (Altavista, VA)

With the defeat, Amherst County falls to 8-8 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Liberty (Bedford, VA) to play the Minutemen in a 3A Conference 30 battle on Tuesday, April 30. The Minutemen enter the battle with a record of 6-13. Liberty won 11-1 in their recent league battle against Heritage (Lynchburg, VA)
